Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services (PRP) is for children and adults with serious mental illness or emotional disturbance and are referred by a licensed professional mental health professional or treating therapist or psychiatrist.

  • The psychiatric rehabilitation services will be outcome-focused on recovery-oriented principles. The services must also be time-limited psychosocial intervention based on medical necessity criteria. The goal for offering rehabilitation services will be to help restore the individual to an appropriate functional level.
  • Clients must be enrolled in an OMHC treatment. The referring mental health professional must provide current DSM-5 diagnosis with diagnosis the meet Behavioral Health Services priority population diagnosis.
  • To assure that PRP services are both clinically indicated and had met the medical necessity criteria, Team K Behavioral Healthcare Services Health System will request written documentation from the treating licensed mental health professional to support the diagnosis.
  • Minors and children have to remain active in participating in outpatient mental health services with a minimum of two therapy sessions per month.
  • As part of the treatment and collaborative process, the treating mental health professional will share the client’s individualized treatment plan with the rehabilitation coordinator to ensure close monitoring of progress made and level of participation in treatment.
  • Individuals seeking PRP must have the cognitive ability to provide consent for participation in a program,
  • Clients must also have active medical assistance and willingness to work closely with the rehabilitation coordinator to apply for all benefits and entitlements either through the state of Maryland or SSI/SSDI and DDA.
